Amplexor and ValueIntranet launch The Luxembourg Digital Workplace Community

04 June 2019

The Luxembourg Digital Workplace Community launched last 15 May, at Microsoft’s offices in Luxembourg. This pioneering initiative was driven by Amplexor and ValueIntranet, with partner support from Microsoft, with the aim of getting all internal communications professionals, intranet managers and digital workplace enthusiasts to discuss the latest trends and best practices around employee experience.

For the kick-off meeting of the Community, more than 30 business professionals attended, representing some of the largest companies in the country as well as international organizations with local headquarters. The day’s agenda was ambitious: to cover the intranet and digital workplace trends in 2019 and beyond, explore employee engagement platforms as well as host the keynote presentation of the Digital Workplace Skills Framework developed by digital workplace consultant and researcher Elizabeth Marsh.

Kevin De Wilde, Customer Experience Manager at Amplexor and one of the co-organizers, was enthusiastic about the success of the launch: “Digitization was once considered as something very special; today, it is the new normal. We want Luxembourg to be seen among the world-leading in terms of digital technologies and modern collaboration models, and we feel that if we do this well, we have a point of difference.”

After the welcome breakfast and introductions, Carl Vanden Eynde, Senior Partner Development Manager at Microsoft, was the first guest speaker to open the stage. With a journey through the evolution from a process-centric to data-centric economy, Carl started exploring how organizations are transforming the way they operate to adapt. With remote workforces, multi-disciplinary and multi-generational teamwork, companies are turning to complete, intelligent digital workplace solutions, like Office 365, to empower their employees to be creative and to work together securely.

Guy Van Leemput, founder of ValueIntranet, opened the roundtable: which are the most influential trends shaping workplace collaboration today? With inputs from the presenter, participants got to share their views around the shift from “on-premise” intranets to cloud-based and hybrid solutions, as well as challenges related to user adoption and change management.

The discussion lead to the rising popularity of ready-made “intranet-in-a-box” platforms, which was the perfect cue for the following topic – Valo as the state-of-the-art intranet on Office 365 and SharePoint.

Amplexor collaboration technology experts Tom Laureys and Christian Knitterscheidt introduced out-of-the-box intranet solutions and why they have proven to be a successful choice for companies that give priority to faster implementation. Besides the quick intranet implementation, the speakers highlighted Valo is the ideal solution also for those organizations focusing on workplace experience and higher user adoption, with less maintenance needs. Through real-world success stories, attendees also got to see in action all the features of the most powerful intranet-in-a-box solutions for Office 365 and SharePoint.

The session presentations ended with the guest keynote by Elizabeth Marsh, digital consultant and author of ’The Digital Workplace Skills Framework’. Elizabeth brought her wealth of over 15+ years of experience working with organizations to improve their digital readiness and presented her research findings from ‘The Digital Workplace Skills Framework’ report. Besides exploring the state of digital literacy in the workplace, she explained how the framework can help companies to improve their employees’ digital literacy and the impact of these strategies in digital workplace adoption.

The day ended with a Q&A panel where attendees got to brainstorm solutions to their most pressing teamwork challenges among peers as well as share best practices and success stories. Some participants also took the opportunity to discuss their specific intranet project roadmaps with some of the experts.

As even the more traditional Luxembourgish companies are now implementing workplace technology to improve employee experiences, Guy Van Leemput highlights the importance of the community: “We want to bring our knowledge and skills to encourage the best employee experiences regardless of organizations’ size or industry. The Digital Workplace Community is a wonderful way to leverage the members’ professional networks and for these experts to ‘give something back’ among peers.”

The next meeting of The Luxembourg Digital Workplace Community is already planned for September 2019. Pre-register to secure your spot!
