Multipharma, the largest pharmacy retailer in Belgium, has launched a new collaboration platform developed by Amplexor. This new channel will act as the backbone of communications both within and between all of the company’s locations - headquarters, warehouses and retail pharmacies. Based on Valo technology, Amplexor customized Multipharma’s new intranet to make everyday contact between headquarters, warehouses and their 270 stores more personal and efficient, as well as enhance collaboration across teams.
The partnership with Amplexor kicked off in March 2018, after three members of their IT and Internal Communications teams attended the workshop on next-generation intranets in Leuven. This encounter turned out to be an eye-opener. The group was convinced that ready to go intranets’ quick implementation and easy user adoption would be a solid and future proof option for developing their new intranet. After having completed their functional analysis, they started the consultation process, Valo requirement mapping and the project moved on from then.
Christof Pelgrims, Internal Communications Coordinator at Multipharma, highlights the role of their new intranet in improving not only their workplace experience, but also customers’ experience. – “Knowledge management and communication in a bilingual nationwide company with approximately 1.700 employees working in 270 points of sale, is quite a challenge. Our goal was to offer all our employees a powerful and feature-rich digital workplace platform, and we got it with Amplexor and Valo. We believe our new intranet, by empowering our staff, will add to better customer and patient experience, and better overall levels of service”.
From their new intranet homepage, Multipharma’s 1700 employees can access global company announcements, as well as receive personalized information according to their location, role and language of preference – all of the intranet content is available in the country’s two official languages, Dutch and French. There’s also a news kiosk, a powerful people directory, a digital library and links to the group’s business tools and applications, such as the Multipharma training center. On the pharmacies’ homepage, staff get notified of everything that needs to happen in the store that day, active product promotions, returns information, delegate visits and much more.
With simplified collaboration and modern ways of working being important components of Multipharma’s growth strategy, their new intranet offers the perfect foundation for the group to find new ways to compete in the market.
