After the success of the Belgium seminar, The World of Modern Intranets landed at Melia Luxembourg, in the heart of the Kirchberg financial district, last Thursday, 14 June. The round table session attracted more than 30 business leaders to discuss the latest trends in collaboration, internal communications and digital workplaces.
The welcome reception lunch kicked off conversations around everyone’s experiences and challenges on the topic of intranets, and boosted networking among participants and speakers. This exchange of ideas gave just the right cue for the first presentation on “the 10 commandments for a successful digital workplace”. With a humorous approach, Tom Laureys and Damien Dewitte introduced a mix of guidelines and tips on providing premium employee experiences with modern collaboration platforms, adjusted to today’s flexible working styles.
Covering all the available options of intranets on Office 365 and SharePoint, Tom then took the audience through the pros and cons of SharePoint Communication Sites, Intranet-in-a-Box solutions and custom-built platforms. The recently announced new features and how they increase the impact of SharePoint intranets were also highlighted.
Before the Q&A, there was still time to explore alternative out-of-the-box intranet solutions for companies that give priority to faster implementation and less maintenance needs, such as the popular Valo platform. The ready-made package of communication, collaboration and productivity tools raised interest for many attendees, mainly regarding the pre-requirements for implementation. Our experts dispelled the misconception that organizations must have Office 365 already fully rolled out to opt for such a turn-key SharePoint intranet solution. However, a migration to Office 365 has many benefits, such as diversity of productivity tools. The hands-on demonstration and real success stories presented showed how SharePoint can be used to build top quality intranet sites and compare the advantages of each solution.
The seminar received excellent feedback from attendees, with some having already booked an individual intranet consultation to assess their particular business cases with our experts.
