As one of many Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, Amplexor’s Canada and Portugal offices recently donated over 30 computers, screens, office chairs and home furniture to local charity associations. In the words of Antoine-Laurent de Lavoisier “Nothing is created and nothing is destroyed but everything is transformed.” And this is Amplexor’s goal as an environmentally and socially conscious organization: to transform the world by giving back to society, and every small gesture matters. Focusing on recovery and reuse, these initiatives prevent operational equipment from premature destruction, at the same time helping charity associations that need them.
The Portugal office contacted the local city hall in order to select associations that could benefit the most from the office equipment and furniture. A total of 5 associations, from children community centers to family support organizations received the donations. Additionally, because the transformation must come from within, the Lisbon office has held two computers sales at special prices, since the beginning of the pandemic, to help employees with children that need them for home schooling. The initiatives were a success.
The Canada office chose ERA (Electronic Recycling Association), and the team was thrilled to donate over 20 computers and screens. ERA is a non-profit organization founded in 2004 to address the growing problem of e-waste and the increasing ‘digital divide’.
