Case Study: Tessenderlo Group Intranet - TGShare
Problem
Tessenderlo Group was using Sharepoint 2003 technology for its intranet - sharing procedures, employee lookup functionality and some basic workflow. Logically, the next generation of Sharepoint was chosen and implemented to extend the intranet.
Solution
Actually, the TGSHARE platform is used for several sub projects such as:
ISO procedure
Maintaining ISO procedures is a difficult process which was done manually by Tessenderlo. A procedure is created and approved by different employees. Once the procedure becomes final, it is published to the whole company. To complete this task, Amplexor used a lot of 'Out of the Box' functionalities, extended with a custom workflow and metadata integration into Word2007.
Document management platform for departments
Several departments within Tessendelo Group are using the Sharepoint platform to store their documents. As an example, the IT-department has integrated the Knowledge database into Sharepoint.
Project Portfolio tool
By using MOSS Ceylon, Tessenderlo Group managed to get an overall view of the projects within the company. They started off with a pilot project in IT and subsequently deployed the solution to the whole company. This allows the PM Officer to get an overview while the projects are managed locally. No more need to have Excel files sent around to get a project status; the list is now managed via Ceylon.
