Selor

Selor recruits and selects personnel for the government and provides government employees with job rotation, orientation and promotions. The bureau also manages a database in which candidates place their CVs. In addition, Selor provides official certificates related to languageproficiency, a service that’s also available for free to private individuals.
Selor wanted to turn its document-driven environment into a process-driven environment so that it could manage the information better and work more efficiently.
Relevant information is presented per team with Microsoft SharePoint Server. This solution resulted in another way of working, driven from Selor’s business processes.
Until recently Selor’s company details were found all over the organisation: on the server, on printed fax paper, in files, etc. A typical consequence was untraceable information, double stocks and different versions of the same documents. Obviously, very little knowledge management occurred.
A portal site, called Cosmos, now serves as a communication platform and organises the information per business process. Teams, which collaborate on a specific subject, now have a sub portal where all information about their subject is collected: documents in their various versions, relevant links for further information in order to take immediate action, new info, etc. What’s more, this information is accompanied by background clarification.
To make it challenging for the employees, the training sessions were organised like a competition. The portal is thoroughly accepted and on 1 June 2006 the old fileserver was definitively disconnected.
Thanks to Cosmos, Selor switched from a document-driven organisation to a process-driven one. It is now one of the leaders in this area.
