Amplexor moves to new headquarters

Content management specialist relocates to Arenberg Science Park

Leuven, 30 June 2010 – Amplexor has moved to new headquarters at the Arenberg Science Park in Heverlee, Leuven. The content management specialist left its offices at De Vunt Business Park in Holsbeek for a state-of-the-art building with many ecological attributes.

Expanding business

Following a long period of steady growth, Amplexor decided earlier this year that it needed to expand. Its offices in De Vunt, Holsbeek, no longer fulfilled its requirements, and they did not reflect the company's high-tech image. When Amplexor first moved to the office building in Holsbeek eight years ago, the company had just eight employees. Since then, the number of ECM consultants has risen to 55. Although the amount of available space was increased to 600m², the feeling was that the offices were no longer appropriate for the company.

Eric Pieters, Amplexor’s CEO, explained the situation. “Besides having to deal with cramped premises, we also had a problem with acoustics. The large public areas were affected by irritating background noise when the office was full of people. And furthermore, the industrial park was built in a style that did not reflect our company’s progressive attitude.” As of Monday 28 June, Amplexor’s activities were relocated to the Arenberg Science Park. An entire floor of the building was fitted out especially to meet the company’s needs. “We have 1000m² at our disposal, and we planned on having a number of different rooms in which work can be discussed quietly,” Eric Pieters said.

High tech

The relocation also provided Amplexor with an opportunity to do something for the environment. The new building was constructed using the latest environmentally friendly building processes. In connection with this, a heat pump system was installed, together with an underground grid of plastic pipes, allowing heat from the ground (which has an average temperature of 8°C - 12°C) to be reused. As a result, Amplexor will only need to purchase one quarter of its heating requirements. The building’s energy costs have also been substantially reduced through the use of concrete core activation technology and high quality insulation materials.

Small ecological footprint

“There is a green accent at Amplexor that goes far beyond our logo. As a business, we want to contribute actively towards ensuring a cleaner environment and a smaller ecological footprint. With this in mind, we encourage our employees to opt for eco-friendly cars, we use very little paper at our office, and we separate our waste,” Eric Pieters explained.
