Le nouveau “document management solution” est arrivé près de chez vous – Introducing EMC Documentum 6
Document Management Systems (DMS) have been around for over 15 years. But the high cost of the DM software solutions, the lack of usability for end-users and the complex implementations and integrations have hampered the wide spread adoption of these type of solutions. All this has changed dramatically over the last couple of years: software prices have collapsed, usability has been improved spectacularly. Implementations also go a lot smoother due to an explosion of out-of-the-box functionalities and the adherence to open standards by most leading players.
EMC Documentum has been leading the pack of ECM vendors and the arrival of its new D6 platform makes them leapfrog the competition. This seminar will provide you with an overview of the D6 platform, its overall architecture and different components. During the demo, you will get to see the new sleek user interfaces and discover the rich functionalities available.
One specific session will focus on ‘Transactional content management’, or how document management services will appear in all kinds of processes within your organization: from scanning and imaging of incoming paper documents or capturing digital content, over workflow and business process management and finally providing immediate and flexible access to this information through portals or other user interfaces and systems.
The second specific session will focus on how you can protect sensitive documents and e-mails inside your organization but also outside the firewalls. You may have a highly secured DMS but you cannot prevent your employees to send out confidential documents by e-mail or take these with them when they leave the company. Organizations today are also increasingly sharing sensitive data with partners, suppliers and customers which increases the risk of facing lost revenue or market share or a damaged reputation. Document Information Rights Management allows content owners to decide who gets to view, edit, print or forward e-mails and documents – and who is not.
