Roel Mortelmans and Luc Peeters join the management team at Amplexor

Roel Mortelmans is appointed Head of Operations

Leuven - Amplexor, a specialist in enterprise content management (ECM), has appointed Roel Mortelmans as Head of Operations. Mortelmans and the Senior Consultant Luc Peeters also join the management team at Amplexor.

Roel Mortelmans, 40, began his career at Periphere (Quadrox) as a technical architect and functional analyst for the development of ‘remote client-server' applications. When Internet technology made its commercial breakthrough, he held the position of project manager at Ubizen, formerly known as Netvision, a web security company in Leuven. As a manager in the Webcentric Computing marketing department, he led and coordinated the setting up of web-based applications. Although this department was not part of Ubizen's core business, it still represented a major growth centre and went independent to become a separate company (eXpanded Media). In the new firm, Mortelmans immediately took charge of the technical management.

An important step was the formation of a team of analysts. Thanks to this initiative, the provision of services saw tremendous professional development and an expansion of the services on offer. In addition to web content management, these services included document management, collaboration and integration (also known as EAI).

Roel Mortelmans and Luc Peeters will strengthen the management team at Amplexor. Furthermore, Mortelmans will head up the company's development team. This will involve managing a team of developers, consultants and project managers - totalling some 25 operational staff.

According to Eric Pieters, CEO of Amplexor, "With Roel, our team now has a specialist with great experience gained over 15 years working in the information management sector, calling on web-based technologies. Mortelmans is equally enthusiastic about his new tasks: "I used to be the leader of operational teams with project managers, consultants and analysts.
