Amplexor extends its portfolio of web content management systems, thanks to Drupal
The first Drupal-WCM project has just been launched at the University Hospitals of Leuven
Leuven, 20 May 2008 - Amplexor, a specialist in enterprise content management (ECM), has added Drupal to its portfolio. Drupal is a well-known open source platform for web content management. The first major project based on this platform was launched at the University Hospitals of Leuven. Amplexor will be responsible for producing the website and providing professional support through its Customer Application Management Team.
The open source WCM for enterprises
"We had already been following the Drupal project for a long time from a technical and functional viewpoint," says Geert Mortier, Director of Business Development at Amplexor, "but we had noticed that Drupal was above all implemented for small and medium-sized projects, whereas Amplexor's services mainly focused on larger and more complex web projects. The recent versions of Drupal - and the momentum that the platform gathered on the market - now make it possible to also use Drupal for bigger projects. Drupal is a particularly flexible and modular content management platform, enabling the building and maintenance of various types of website. They range from enterprise sites and traditional intranet sites to the latest ‘Community sites'. We have seen a strong growth in demand for the latter type of site. Using the web, organisations want to increase their interaction with clients, members or suppliers. Drupal is a solution that is perfectly suited to this goal."
Big project for the University Hospitals of Leuven
In the meantime, the first large project based on Drupal has already been launched. Amplexor was charged with building the new website for the University Hospitals of Leuven, using the WCM open source system. Reinoud Reynders, IT Manager Infrastructure & Operations at the University Hospitals of Leuven, explains why Amplexor was chosen: "Amplexor immediately understood what we wanted and what we needed. Even more importantly, they immediately understood what we didn't need. One of the mains reasons for giving them the project was that we felt they had a perfect grasp of our unique situation." Through this project, Amplexor has underlined its expertise in implementing WCM systems and providing professional support.
