AMPLEXOR Awarded EUR 36m Translation Contract by the European Commission
14 September 2016
On September 14, 2016, AMPLEXOR was awarded a EUR 36m contract by the European Commission for the translation of “technical regulations”.
Among the 14 LSPs (Language Service Providers) who submitted contract bids, the European Commission selected AMPLEXOR as the sole vendor.
This is not the company’s first time win. In January 2016, AMPLEXOR (Formerly euroscript International SA) was awarded nine out of 22 lots in a EUR 67.5m translation services contract for the European Parliament.
Although AMPLEXOR was EU’s previous language service provider, as a public tender, it is considered a new achievement where the company won against well-known competitors.
The deployed technology in the new contract is the company’s proprietary platform called AMPLEXOR Global Content Solution which includes translation management (TMS) and productivity capabilities (CAT).
According to AMPLEXOR CSO, Jochen Kliemke, “In real numbers, we are talking about roughly 200,000 pages per year to be processed into and from all official EU languages, except Irish, which shows the challenge to manage such a contract successfully.”
